Meet Tom & Anita Dodd
Though many of you may already be familiar with their smiling faces greeting you on a Sunday morning, let us help you get to know two recent additions to Chapel’s family- Tom and Anita Dodd.
The Dodds have been attending Chapel since January 2013, having moved to Chippewa from Moon Twp. Prior to attending Chapel, however, they were members of Providence PCA in Robinson Twp. for nearly 20 years where Tom was a ruling elder and Anita had been the choir director.
Loyal WVU Mountaineer fans, Tom and Anita were both born and raised in West Virginia and graduates of West Virginia University. Tom has a business management degree and Anita an elementary education degree. Tom worked in the energy industry for over 30 years retiring as Vice President Energy Marketing for Dominion Resources headquartered in Richmond, VA. (Ask him about fracking!) During his career, Tom, Anita, and their children had the opportunity to live in a variety of cities- including Clarksburg, WV, New Orleans, LA, Tulsa, OK, and most beloved, Pittsburgh, PA. Tom also served in the United States Army Reserves, while Anita was blessed to be able to be a stay at home mom.
Now of course we can’t forget about the rest of the family! Tom and Anita are parents of four children and currently have four grandchildren. Son Scott, Jaime, Henry and Owen live in Montclair, NJ. Daughter Stacy, Bill, Ella and Blake live in Columbus, OH. Son Jonathan and Jamie live in Coraopolis, and son Matthew and Mandy in Chippewa. Scott is a Penn State graduate, Stacy from Grove City College, and Jonathan and Matthew are Geneva College and Beaver County Christian School graduates.
The Dodd’s love to enjoy God’s creation, spending much of their time outdoors: gardening, swinging, taking walks, feeding the birds and deer, and spending time at their house at Deep Creek Lake, MD, where they boat, kayak, fish and enjoy the amazing view of the stars from their deck. When not spending time with her grandchildren, Anita likes to collect dolls and play the piano, while Tom enjoys all sports (especially the WVU Mountaineers), likes to read, and will play a round of golf on occasion.
The couple feels at home at Chapel. “We have felt very welcomed by the people of Chapel and definitely see the evidence of the Holy Spirit and the love of Jesus Christ in their midst,” said the Dodd’s. Anita is singing in the choir, Tom has been serving on the Outreach and Finance committees, and they also attend the small group at the Cline’s.
